Sauda Vekst is a member-based chamber of commerce within the Sauda municipal region, representing 87 member organizations that account for 75% of the companies in Sauda. Our mission is to serve as a conduit between companies in Sauda seeking talent and individuals contemplating a move to Sauda for new opportunities. Our Members

Our membership encompasses a wide range of industries, including numerous small and medium-sized enterprises:

Eramet Norway Sauda, also known as Sauda Smelter, is owned by the French company Eramet and produces ferromanganese in low-, medium-, and high-carbon alloys. The smelter has been operational since 1923 and stands as a cornerstone enterprise in the region.

Saudefaldene is a Norwegian power company founded in 1913 to develop and operate hydroelectric power plants in the Sauda watershed. It produces hydroelectric power and operates the regional network in Sauda, with an annual power production of 1810 GWh, approximately 1.5% of Norway's total hydroelectric power production.

Statkraft holds a leading position in hydropower internationally and is Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy. The group produces hydropower, wind power, solar power, gas-fired power, and supplies district heating, with a regional presence in Sauda.

HY2GEN focuses on developing, financing, constructing, and operating plants for the production of renewable, non-biological origin fuels for global customers. The project Iverson eFuels aims to develop large-scale production of green ammonia in Sauda, expected to commence operations in 2029.

Other member businesses include contractors in the construction and civil engineering sectors, service industries including retail, tourism, food, and dining, among others.

Our Activities

We are eager to welcome and support new individuals and families considering Sauda as their new home. Beyond facilitating connections with potential employers for individuals and their spouses, we aim to ensure a smooth transition through organizing social events for newcomers and the local community, as well as buddy programs. These programs introduce you or your family to a local buddy or family to help you integrate into our tight-knit community. We tailor our support to meet your specific needs and interests.

About 15 years ago, Sauda experienced an influx of Dutch labour migrants, and today, the Dutch community in Sauda is keen to welcome and assist new arrivals from the Netherlands and beyond.
